Many people think that the Costa Blanca has derived its name from the many white houses built on the coast. Very logic, because It is an idyllic sight. Some are right by the beach and other houses seem to be stuck against the mountains.
But it is more likely that the name is derived from the many almond trees that can be found here in the region and which give the white color to the costa in the spring.
The Costa Blanca starts in the south at Torrevieja and extends to Gandia in the north.
In many cases Costa Valencia and Costa del Azahar, which lie north of the Costa Blanca, are also calculated within but we limit ourselves to the description of the real Costa Blanca.
